Fatty acids are typically present in the raw materials used for the production of biodiesel. Dow Water & Process Solutions technologies allow the production of biodiesel from naturally-occurring fatty acids obtained from the hydrolysis of hard animal fats (tallow), coconut, and palm kernel and soybean oils and from the fractional distillation of crude tall oil.
