Tellurium forms a limited number of compounds, most of which are halide complexes. The predominant ionic form of tellurium is telluric (VI) acid (H₆O6Te) which is an anion. As an anion, it is best removed from solutions with a strong base anion exchange resins like DOWEX™ 21K XLT or DOWEX™ MARATHON™ MSA resins.

Polonium occurs in uranium and thorium minerals as a product of radioactive decay. It is quite rare and not of general commercial interest as an ion.
